The MOTION-LOCK Switch (QS-SBML-1) is the user-facing safety control for Qubic System devices equipped with the MOTION-LOCK Sub-System. When connected, it allows you to instantly stop or lock the operation of all devices in the MOTION-LOCK chain, improving safety during entry and exit and providing a clear emergency stop option for motion-enabled setups. While the switch is included as standard equipment with Qubic System motion platforms, many users purchase an additional unit as a spare or to add another stop/lock point in a more convenient location. This is especially useful for commercial installations, shared simulators, or rigs where different users may need quick access to the motion lock from different positions.

The switch is built using professional-grade components and includes status indication via an integrated LED. The MOTION-LOCK Sub-System supports a chained circuit approach, enabling one switch to control multiple compatible devices in a single safety loop.

Is it included with motion platforms?

Yes. It’s included as standard equipment with all motion platforms, and is also sold as an optional accessory for setups where additional user control is desired.

Why would I buy an extra switch if I already have one?

Typical reasons: Replacement/spare (in case the original is damaged), you want an additional stop/lock point (e.g., reachable from another position), you want separate control circuits for different components (e.g., stop platform independently from other devices).

Can one MOTION-LOCK Switch control multiple devices?

Yes. The MOTION-LOCK Sub-System supports chaining multiple compatible devices in a single circuit (up-link/down-link approach), allowing a single switch to control the entire chain

What makes it “more than just a button”?

It’s a dual-state switch designed to be easy to engage but difficult to release accidentally, built on professional-grade components (IEC 60947-5-1, VDE 0660). It’s the only user-facing part of the MOTION-LOCK Sub-System.

Which products is it compatible with?

Is it required for QS-BT1?
