This set, consisting of two actuators with a 100 mm / 3.93 in stroke, a power cabinet and a motion controller (QS-MC6), is the perfect solution for all drivers who want to enter the virtual world of competition or need a 2DOF system as their first motion platform. The QS-220 2DOF Actuators Intro Set is the starter configuration of the QS-220 actuator ecosystem, built for sim racers and professional users who want serious motion range from the beginning. Using QS-220 industrial-grade linear actuators with 100 mm stroke, it delivers a larger motion envelope than compact actuator systems while keeping the setup modular, efficient, and straightforward to integrate into popular aluminum-profile cockpits.

QS-220 is engineered for demanding applications where precision, responsiveness, and motion headroom matter. With very low latency control and real-time vibration detail up to 100 Hz, it reproduces road texture, curb strikes, engine vibrations, and rapid chassis dynamics with exceptional clarity. Everything is configured through Qubic Manager using game-specific profiles and deep tuning options, so you can quickly dial in intensity and filtering to match your driving style.

Most importantly, the Intro Set is designed to grow with you. When you are ready for more realism and a full 3DOF configuration, you can expand the system by adding the dedicated Upgrade Set, without rebuilding your rig from scratch.

Innovative technology, modular and compact design, as well as the extremely quiet operation make the QS-220 a perfect motion base not only for professional applications but also for home users in various types of cockpits. 3 DOF Configuration

The full QS-220 3DOF configuration uses four actuators with 100 mm stroke, two power cabinets and one QS-MC6 controller. It provides pitch, roll and independent vertical movement (heave). The Intro set contains two actuators and one power cabinet; adding the matching Upgrade set creates the full 3DOF configuration while retaining the existing controller.

Plug & Perform

The power cabinets and actuators use detachable, shielded connectors with chrome-plated brass housings. Shielding helps reduce electromagnetic interference. Detachable cables make cockpit installation and cable routing easier. Connect the equipment according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Enhance Stability

Dedicated brackets allow QS-220 actuators to be mounted to compatible aluminium-profile cockpits. They help position the actuators on the frame and provide secure attachment. Check the mounting arrangement for your cockpit before installation.

Qubic Manager Software

Qubic Manager is software developed by the hardware manufacturer to configure and operate motion platforms. It works with many racing and flight simulators on PC; the list of supported games grows with software updates.

Profiles and settings let you adjust motion intensity, responses to bumps, roll and pitch to your preferences.

What is QS-220?

QS-220 is a modular linear-actuator motion system built for realistic motion effects and real-time vibrations (up to 100 Hz), with very low latency (<8 ms) and high control frequency (up to 1000 Hz).

What motion configurations (DOF) can QS-220 support?

Standard QS-220 configurations offer 2DOF, 2.5DOF with QS-Pivot, or full 3DOF with four actuators. A 3DOF setup can be expanded to 5DOF with the QS-CH2 platform, which adds forward/backward movement (surge) and rotation around the vertical axis (yaw). For 6DOF, QS-S25 is an example of a complete platform. You can also design and build your own motion platform using QS-220 actuators as components. Achieving 4, 5 or 6 independent degrees of freedom requires a suitable mechanical structure, actuator arrangement and compatible control system configured for that geometry. The number of actuators alone does not determine the number of degrees of freedom.

What are the key performance specs of QS-220 actuators?

Stroke: 100 mm; vibration frequency range: 0–100 Hz; latency: <8 ms; velocity: 300 mm/s; acceleration: 0.4 G (Heavy Duty). Intro 2DOF operates in Heavy Duty mode only. Maximum payload in Heavy Duty mode: 350 kg.

What power supply is required?

120/230 V AC ±10%, 50–60 Hz; single phase, neutral and protective earth (PE). Connection: USB-C (PC to QS-MC6), M-BUS RJ45 (QS-MC6 to the control module). The USB-C port is on the M10 controller, which is part of the QS-MC6 set.

What software is used? Is it included?

Qubic Manager is used to configure and run the system. The software license is free-of-charge.

Can it be used for VR?

Yes. Qubic Manager supports VR HeadWay (VR motion compensation) to reduce unwanted VR tracking effects caused by platform movement.

What’s the difference between QS-220 and QS-210?

QS-220 is the larger, higher-stroke system (100 mm vs 60 mm on QS-210) designed for bigger motion envelopes and heavier-duty applications. It also supports higher maximum velocity modes (up to 800 mm/s in Q-Mode) and higher recommended payloads in 3DOF configurations compared to QS-210. Intro 2DOF operates in Heavy Duty mode only, at speeds of up to 300 mm/s. Q-Mode at up to 800 mm/s is available after upgrading to 3DOF, with a 230 V power supply and without the QS-CH2 platform.

What is included in the QS-220 Intro Set?

It includes 1x QS-220 motion set (2x QS-L1 actuators + 1x QS-SB2 power cabinet + MOTION-LOCK cable + power cable) plus the QS-MC6 motion controller set (M10 USB controller, MOTION-LOCK cable, M-BUS terminator, USB-C cable, and CAT5E patch cord). The set also includes the MOTION-LOCK switch, actuator mounting brackets and mounting hardware.

What motion DOF do I get with the Intro set?

The Intro Set is the entry-level 2DOF configuration with two actuators. The exact number of degrees of freedom depends on the cockpit geometry; the set is designed as a starter 2DOF motion base that can be expanded later.

Can I upgrade later to a larger configuration?

Yes. QS-220 is modular. You can expand by adding additional QS-220 motion sets to reach higher DOF configurations, depending on your build. The QS-220 Upgrade set adds two actuators and one Power Cabinet. Upgrading to full 3DOF adds independent vertical movement (heave), while retaining your existing QS-MC6 controller.
